Well, this is a complete catastrophe

The computer technicians were unable to get anything off my old hard drive. Not. A. Single. Thing. They said they worked all day, tried everything, and the only thing left is to send it to some outfit that will try taking the hard drive apart or something, at costs I cannot afford and with no guarantee of success. I’ve given up.

I don’t have the whole thing backed up per se, but fortunately the things that really matter are more or less retrievable. Charley is online of course. I have a few files for it that were offline but they’re not terribly important in the grand scheme of things. I’ve got the play I wrote and the novel I’m working on backed up in a couple of places.

Still, this is a bad end to a remarkably bad week.

Yikes. Thats really too bad… I had a virus a few years back that crashed my computer. Cant remember what I did but everything was lost. At least you can get some of your stuff back…In any case good luck.

Computers are a wonderful pain in the a@@ – aren’t they? Glad to hear your other stuff was backed up, but sorry you’re in limbo with the hard drive thing. If I were in your shoes, I’d hit the *pause* button, take the weekend off, go out and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine, and come back to your life Monday morning refreshed and rested.

Boooo Hisssss….So sorry to hear this Meaghan, what a mess! No wonder you’ve had headaches this week. Hope you start having better luck soon!!!

Im so sorry. Try to get some more reading in and take a break kick back and have no worries for this weekend. James Chatman and Crystal Tuggle’s remains have been found after going missing in June of 2002.

    Crap.

I’m glad that most of the important things were retrievable.

Did they ever identify the virus that caused all this and do you need a new hard drive?
