Computer still nonfunctional

My boyfriend is still working on it. (And he followed a lot of y’all’s advice, thanks.) He is somewhat mystified though, he has run several anti-virus, anti-malware etc programs through it and the stupid messages still keep popping up. If this continues I will have to take it to the stupid shop. Michael has a friend who can offer a discount or maybe even free service.

On the bright side, in the past two days I’ve read five and a half books.

    Go here:

    http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?s=357ba65eb07a7d8fda6998457e094e2a&showforum=19

They will have you (or your boyfriend) post a GSI log and a virusinfo_syscure.zip log.. instructions are in the “read me” posting at the top of the forum.

You’ve been given some good advice so far, but something like MalwareBytes… which I really like won’t get rid of everything.

Unfortunately at the rate that new malware is coming out, there’s no guarantee that any antimalware program will keep everything out.

Kaspersky is my personal favorite internet security program and the moderators on that forum are really good at disinfecting computers and getting rid of remaining files that the various anti virus and general antimalware programs miss.

Hope you get things resolved soon, love the site and the blog.

Let me know if I can be of any more assistance.

What do you do when your depression comes back?? I’m in a bout of depression now and it stinks. Similar to what happened to you. I know people mean well when they say, “don’t feel like that” or “time to get over it and put it behind you.” But does no good saying that to me. Just wondering.

Me, generally I try to distract myself as much as possible. Read books, go out, hang around people, do stuff. Anything but sit there wallowing in my thoughts. And I wait. Knowing it can’t last forever — even though it sure doesn’t feel like that.

And if it lasts longer for a few weeks, I go and get an increase in medication.

I do the same thing. Keep busy..but still, I have hard days. Just wondering if others do that too. I’m at the highest dose of Effexor, at 225 mg. Thanks

I’m taking a higher dose of antidepressants than the FDA recommends.

malware must be removed in a certain way for it to be removed completely. Also, always remember to clear your restore points as it will often sit there waiting for you to do a system restore and then bang it’s back.
