Eighteen-year-old Misty Croslin, girlfriend-then-wife-now-divorcee of Ronald Cummings and person of interest in the disappearance of Ronald’s daughter Haleigh, has pleaded no contest to seven counts of drug trafficking. Misty, Ronald, Misty’s brother Tommy, Ronald’s cousin and another person were charged after undercover cops filmed them selling $3,900 worth of prescription drugs.
Each of the counts carried a maximum of 30 years in prison, so Misty could potentially face 210 years. But all the other suspects have gotten 15 years and I expect Misty will get the same, or less, since she is only 18. But to someone that young, 15 years is a VERY long time. Perhaps her attorney will play the “bad childhood” card. There is some substance to that; I think you might have to start figuring out the members of the Croslin family who are NOT in jail. Misty and Tommy’s parents are also locked up for drug offenses. It’s all extremely sad.
As to what this means for the investigation into Haleigh’s disappearance, your guess is as good as mine.

Now that the D.A. has some leverage on her, he might agree to reduce her sentence or have her serve out her sentence in a nicer place if she cops to everything she knows about what happened to Haleigh. If it is found out she lied in her statement, then the full weight comes down on her.
The problem is, if Misty tells the truth about what happened to Haleigh she might wind up facing a lot more than 15 years.
But I don’t think she would make a deal that didn’t allow her a chance at parole. Even a public defender would be able to work out something like that.
That she plead no contest makes me wonder if that is already in the works.

Jane Valdez-Mitchell, talk show host like Nancy Grace, says she (Jane) is a recovering alcoholic and even if there had been a black out Misty would be getting fragments of memories by now.
The other person was a cousin named Hope, who had an attitude toward the judge and got 15 years for ONE count and she didn’t say a word in the car. Wow!
The experts say Misty may be willing to go to jail for drugs and, you’re right, since she is facing years why say anything and take the chance ot get more years?
I once drank so much that I blacked out and woke up in bed, almost naked, with a black eye, a horrible scrape across my chest that left a scar, and various scrapes and bruises on my arms and legs. I STILL have no idea what happened. The memory never came back.
Kid killers get a lot less breaks. Plus, looking at this sad example of a family, everyone is out for themselves. I feel sorry for Haleigh’s brother, he is going to be the loser. It looks like everyone is going away for a good while.
God this family is so skanky. Is there anything they haven’t done yet?

Yeah, tell the truth about what happened to that poor little girl. They may not have been solely responsible, but that whole bunch sure as heck knows something.
I think this soap wil get even weirder.
Btw. Misty claims that her cousin Joe Overstreet and a friend took Haleigh away in a bag, screaming. According to her they were looking for a gun that belonged to Haleighs dad. They couldn’t find the gun so they decided to take Haleigh. Misty and Haleighs little brother were hiding somewhere.

I dont’ either. Its just so lame. They want a gun but they can’t find it so they take a squalling kid off in a bag. Sure. And if Misty and the brother were hiding, why didn’t she make Haleigh hide withem? And why in the world didn’t she say right off, My cousin has did this, his name is Joel, his friend’s name is such and such, instead of playing dumb?
Too bad torture is illegal! In this whole mess, who among them has shed a REAL tear for that poor liitle girl? They’ll get justice eventually – either in this world or the next.
On the Nancy Grace show a caller asked if police/DA office, for real, could torture a witness to get the witness to talk. Nancy Grace replied, “In my dreams….” So I wonder if there is really “something” that can be done without anyone really knowing.

Its funny, not haha funny but kinda ironic, when people say they’d like to have this or that suspect tortured for this or that reason, but if they hear about actual torture of suspects going on they are all up in arms. And god forbid these people get arrested for something they did not do but are man handled in any way. Not really disagreeing, just saying.
Yea, Misty is pretty disgusting. She’s just such a Misty. I mean if I was writing for South park and wanted to make a charactor on the show who looked and acted just like Misty Croslin, and I’d never heard of Haleigh Cummings or her family, I’d probably call the charactor Misty and she’d look just like Croslin.
