He wasn’t on Charley but I thought I’d write about him anyway: one Euripides Cruz, who suffers from schizophrenia and was reported missing from Connecticut in 2008, has turned up in New York City the village of Quogue, New York.
It looks like he’s been living rough in the Long Island area these past six years. His family knew he was probably in that area cause they kept getting bills from a particular hospital in Brooklyn. But then the bills stopped coming and they thought perhaps he had died. But he hadn’t.
A police officer saw Euripides and had a thought, and did a web search and discovered Euripides was listed as missing. He has since been reunited with his brother, niece and sister-in-law in Connecticut.
Many homeless are mentally ill and have families wondering where they are and then there are also those that do not give a crap,..very sad!
The MP book “The Last Place You’d Look” has a whole chapter on “the unreported missing” referring to homeless people, drifters and chronic runaways.
Norman Prater’s was born In June not January. He was sixteen when he went missing.
The date listed in the details for the newly posted Amon case says 2012, not 1971.
Whoops. *blushes* Fixed.
No worries…easier to catch it now than later! Thanks for the fix.
He was found in Quogue, NY, East End of Long Island 🙂
How do you pronounce that?
I’m not from NY but I am from MA, and we have our share of Indian based names, as well as British. I would say rhymes with hog. K Wog. Just a guess though. On an off note, was driving through NJ for the first time in ages a week ago and man, some of those names……Mahwah. My husband spent the whole trip going “Mwahahahahahaha”. I hate road trips.
